Excitement levels and nerves were high as around 80 family members and friends came to the Spa Pavilion coffee lounge to hear the Felixstowe Community Choir perform in public for the first time, after just eight meetings.
Thirty six members of the choir were there to sing A Little Help from my Friends (Beatles). The Lion Sleeps Tonight (Tight Fit), Make You Feel My love (Adele), Sunrise, Sunset (Fiddle on the Roof), The Rose (Bette Midler) and Bridge Over Troubled Water ( Simon and Garfunkel).
The choir looked very Christmassy with many wearing wearing hats, earrings or reindeer antlers! Thanks to the members there was a very successful raffle and a selection of nibbles and cakes.
The singing was fun and tuneful, no-one took themselves too seriously and the audience were suitably impressed by what Emily Bennett, our conductor had achieved with mainly non-singers in such a short time.
Sadly we say goodbye now to the Spa and the team there who made us so welcome. We are very sad you are closing and wish you well for the future.
Felixstowe Community Choir will meet again on 7 January 2013 at their new venue - to be announced shortly.
New members are always welcome - especially sopranoes and men!
