Felixstowe Community Choir Press Release
The biggest choir in the area has presented cheques to their two adopted charities at The Orwell Hotel, Felixstowe where they meet to sing each week. Members of Felixstowe Community Choir voted to support Alzheimers Research and EACH over the past few months.
"Choir members always vote for their chosen charities, one local and one national", explained Rachel Sloane, choirfounder. "They were very pleased when EACH and Alzheimers Research won the vote for June - December 2014. We have a weekly raffle with prizes donated by members, so it is an easy way to raise money and we would recommend others do something similar. As a very popular choir we are also happy to be able to add money from our funds to bring the donation to such a pleasing amount. We have now given over £7000 to charity."
Representatives of the charities attended Monday’s choir meeting and, to their delight, were presented with a £1500 cheque each.
Members of Felixstowe Community Choir have chosen SANDS, Stillbirth and Neonatal Death and The Woolverstone Wish Cancer Centre Appeal at the Ipswich hospital as their new adopted charities for 2015.
The choir meets on Mondays throughout the year (including Bank Holidays) at the Orwell Hotel and anyone over 18 is welcome to attend. Singers pay £4 at the door with no membership fee.
